I’m here, I’m here!

Lest you think I’ve resigned this blog to the dregs of cyberspace, I’m still here! My hiatus was unplanned, though really did work best for my family and me. I have some exciting things to share with you, including a new dress and a Me Made May pledge. (Can you believe next month is May? Seriously.)

To ease us back into a blogging groove, here’s a taste of what I’ve been up to the past several weeks.

The weather in the PNW has been almost unnervingly springy. It’s like Mother Nature was lulling us into a false sense of sunny security. We loved it, but still. We didn’t trust it.

But we sure did revel in it while it lasted. One day Asher insisted on wearing a sweatshirt to the park, even though I tried to tell him he’d be too warm. Going shirtless was inevitable.

I spent about a week in March working on one of my favorite dresses of all time. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that this project ended up making me a bit dramatic, but those are the most fun, right? Sometimes? I’ll be dedicating an entire dramatic post about this nautical dress of mine.

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Need I say more? (Okay, I do need to say more. Produced by Tina Fey, Netflix original. Go binge watch now, please.)

Asher and I went to Denver for a week to celebrate my mom’s birthday. One of our shopping stops was Fancy Tiger Crafts, and I picked up the newest Sewaholic dress and a delightful modern quilt pattern. My mom loves to sew even more than I do, so when we’re together we feed each other’s need for more fabric and more patterns. It’s a dangerous, though exciting, place to be.

We also made it to Colorado Fabrics while I was visiting. I made away like a bandit, even though I didn’t have it in my budget to buy all the gingham. I still desperately want it.

Easter was full of candy-eating, egg-dyeing, and church-watching. I say church-watching, because this year Easter happened to fall on one of the two weekends a year when my church hosts a worldwide conference broadcast. So, church in pajamas. I love it for so many reasons.

Inspired by The Nester, I’m focusing my creative juices on my master bedroom right now. I found this fabric for drapes at Joann’s (on sale!), but have to wait for a new bolt to come in, because drapes require lots of fabric. This bolt didn’t quite have enough. So waiting it is. I’m also waiting for my bedding, gold wall accents, and a deer bust jewelry holder to arrive. I’m really excited for that space to finally come together.

What have you been up to the last month? While I haven’t even been checking numbers or stats or anything related to this blog, I have missed you all. And I’m glad to be back!
