hiatus, explained

I have an explanation for my unplanned break from blogging, and in a roundabout way, it does relate to sewing:

I’m having a baby!

For the past six weeks or so, I’ve been pressing my way through the first trimester of pregnancy, which means that really I’ve been spending lots of time on the couch watching Netflix in an effort to distract from the waves of nausea. My energy has been at an all-time low, and just in the past week I feel like I may be coming out of that early pregnancy fog.

We’re expecting the babe at the end of October, and in the meantime I’m looking forward to some maternity sewing. I have a handful of patterns that I hope to adapt to be maternity friendly, and I’d also like to try out some maternity-specific patterns. And then I have the fun task of turning Asher’s room into a fun shared room/nursery, so that was obviously involve some sewing, painting, and general creativity. I have my work cut out for me these next six months!

We’re so happy about our newest addition, and I can’t wait to document this pregnancy through some sewing!
